Your music on film!

August - 5 - 2010

Would you like to write a piece of music that could be potentially heard by millions? Of course you do. Luckily then, that’s exactly what London music college Point Blank are offering.

The basic brief is as follows:

The music should last a maximum of 2 minutes (may be cut down)

The film will have the same look and feel as this trailer:

They really want to use this as the music template.

Points that are loved in this soundtrack:

1)   The scintillating drum intro, sexy and alluring

2)   The “aaah” vocals, quirky and offbeat.

3)   The epic gravitas of the swelling soundtrack, we are hoping to

have famous face after famous face after famous face. We want the

audience to go WOW, and be overwhelmed by the cast.

4)   The entire piece comes to a satisfying conclusion. In our case

we have a proper punch-line to deliver at around 1m10s ish,  the

remaining time will be used for the credits but should still be

entertaining.

5)   Remember that the thrust of this is to tell a joke, a sweet,

amusing, charming joke with a funny punch-line. It is a Jewish joke

but this does not necessarily have to be reflected in the music.

unless you can find a clever way of incorporating this.

Names signed to the project so far:

Davina Maccall, Martin Freeman, Bryan Ferry, Maureen Lipman, Tracy-

Ann Oberman, Steve Furst, Gary Kemp, Arabella Weir. to name a few.

Deadline for submissions: 13th Aug 2010
