What are you doing on the 2nd to the 4th of October? Well, if you are in the UK you should be keeping that date clear, as that is when this years BPM – Europe’s Largest DJ and Music Production Show – takes place. Over 4000 people visited last years show, and this year there is an extra day to cater for increased demand!

BPM represents an opportunity to connect DJs and industry professionals together, as well as showcase new products. As you might expect some of the biggest names in the business will be on display there including Ableton, Vestax, Native Instruments, Pioneer, Novation, Reloop, Akai, Shure and many, many more. Alongside the exhibition over the three days there will be a host of educational seminars on all topics relating to DJing, Production and more.

Naturally at a DJ show you can expect some pro performances, last year’s included James Zabiela, Kutski and Cutmasterswift. What’s more, this year there are plenty of opportunities to see YOU on the line up too. First up is the Play@ stage which is being hosted by Reloop. Together Reloop and BPM are offering up 30 minute slots throughout the day to be snapped up by aspiring new talent.

Following the success of the up-and-coming stage at BPM 2009, this year we’re bringing it back and giving it pride of place in the entrance to the show. The first thing that you will see when you enter the Exhibition Area will be the ‘Reloop Play@BPM Stage’ hosting a continuous line-up of 30 minute sets from new talent. This is your chance to show what you can do and get noticed at BPM 2010. It doesn’t matter whether you play commercial floor-fillers, laidback beats, soulful house, heavy DnB or anything else for that matter, if you want to show what you can do in front of an audience of fellow DJs this is for you. To apply for a showcase set at BPM email play@visitbpm.co.uk ASAP as slots are limited.

That’s a great opportunity right there. For the more technical and performance based DJs out there, there is also an opportunity to flex your skills and be crowned CGI-technologies Freestyle DJ of the Year. The finals will be held at the exhibition, but to qualify you will need to register on the BPM site and add a mix to your account, which will then battle against the rest for a place in the final via on-line voting. Go here for to sign up: http://www.visitbpm.co.uk/enter_comp.php . There will also be some live qualifiers on the day so don’t worry if you don’t make it through in the first round. Prizes on offer include pro DJ equipment from one of the CGI brands (Gemini, Cortex and Ikey Audio).

If battle style isn’t your thing, then Pioneer are also offering up the chance to DJ on their stage, along side some big names. All you have to do is record a 10 minute mini mix, and upload it to youtube as a video response to the video featured on the link below. This is also where you can find full details on what is on offer:

Pioneer DJ Comp – Win entry to the show and a DJ slot.

So, if you work hard, you could end up winning free entry to the show, plus get to play at it on 3 different stages!

Needless to say you can expect to see some exclusive products and launches on the day, with plenty of opportunities to get your hands on them too. So if you are at all interested in DJ and production then this is the place for you that weekend. Brilliantly advance tickets for the whole weekend are just £10! Seriously.
